I extracted and distilled those herbs separately with high-proof organic cane alcohol, and distilled them in a copper still with spring water from my well :)\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis was my first go at bug spray, but I have always heard that you can distill or extract beautyberry leaves for helping with mosquito prevention, so I figured I would do both and mix them because that’s kinda how my brain works. When the alcohol evaporates, the herbs that the bugs don’t like are left on your skin.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTry to keep it off of clothes :) It may sting open cuts due to the alcohol. If you are not familiar, I make a Rainbow Root Turmeric Oil with white, green, blue, and purple turmeric. This has been a much-loved product for 3 years. Seriously, the amount of testimonials I have received over the years for this oil is insane. There is magic in these roots.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAnyways, this time I used jojoba oil, gold turmeric, and organic dried orange peels that I saved from a Juice \u0026amp; Yoga event that Adam and I did the week before. It came out really nice. I then blended it with organic macadamia nut oil, raspberry seed oil, and baobab oil. I wanted to make it more nutritive and more like a serum.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLovely consistency \u0026amp; the scent is so good and bright and orangey, and the oil definitely gives you a moisturized \u0026amp; beautiful glow.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHoweverrr, I would recommend using it in the morning or at night if you don’t mind staining your pillowcase. The orange turmeric in there can stain clothing and towels, so be aware.
